Dr Leanne Johnson
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with post doctoral experience within child services both within the NHS and in independent settings. Previous to being a Clinical Psychologist, I was a qualified Special Needs Teacher, and continue to enjoy working closely with schools and parents. Since qualification, I have developed a particular expertise in working with children that have suffered trauma and also children who are are fostered or adopted (looked after children). I am trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and value delivering direct therapy through my private practice.
I am Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Regional Head of Children's Clinical Services for a large organisation working with education, residential and fostering services. I strategically support the organisation to deliver high quality clinical services and am involved in developing and quality assuring the content for clinical training across the organisation, for example, the Therapeutic Parenting Programme (Trauma Informed Practice). This has been accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) for the purposes of continuing professional development.
I am experienced in providing individualised psychological assessment, consultation, reflective practice, attachment and trauma informed training and direct psychological intervention for young people when indicated.
